Shanta Nathwani: Data Architecture In WordPress

Posts vs. Pages & Categories vs. Tags. There is so much confusion about what types of things should be put on a page and what should be in a post. Static vs. Dynamic content is the best way to tackle this. When creating a website, you can edit a menu to include not only pages, but also category archives that can create a more complete experience for small businesses.

Great talk, but not quite ‘Data Architecture’. More of a high end presentation on site map structure and page/menu configuration for new small business users. Still a great talk, but as developer I was expecting something closer to the database with a name like ‘Data Architecture’.

  2. Dear Casey, Thanks for your comment. I find that listing all of the things in the talk (categories, tags, posts, pages and menus) is much too long. I agree that it may not have been the best title, but couldn’t think of a better title. Any ideas of a better title? Would certainly welcome it.
