Ian Wilson: Understanding WordPress Filters and Actions
If you’re just getting your feet wet in WordPress development, and don’t have a lot of experience working with callbacks/hooks, you might be wondering what the hell you’re supposed to do with all of these Actions and Filters. This talk gets you to a point where you grasp what they are, how they work, and some common places you might use them in theme and plugin development.

Check out the recording of this talk from 2014 at WordCamp Grand Rapids! I had a killer migraine and wound up coming down sick shortly after this talk, so I’m not really at my best. And I re-stuctured the talk to be much better the following year too 🙂
